Cancellation Policy
This Agreement outlines the terms under which The Sorted House Co (“Service Provider”) delivers professional organising services to the Client. Services may include decluttering, organising, moving assistance, home management solutions, and presale soft staging (excluding furniture or products). Any additional work outside the agreed scope may incur extra fees and requires written approval. Results depend on the Client’s cooperation throughout the process. The Client must provide safe, accessible working conditions and disclose any hazards such as fragile items, pests, mould, or structural issues. The Service Provider may take photos or videos for internal or promotional use, ensuring no personal details or faces are included unless written consent is provided. Services do not include cleaning, repairs, or pest control, and the Client is responsible for decisions about disposal, donation, or sale of items. A non-refundable 25% deposit is required at booking. The remaining balance is due on session completion unless otherwise agreed. Additional costs (e.g., storage solutions, labels, donation or rubbish removal) will be communicated beforehand and are payable at the end of the session. Late payments may incur a weekly 5% fee. Cancellations within 48 hours result in forfeiture of the deposit or a 25% fee. Rescheduling also requires 48 hours’ notice to avoid a 25% penalty. The Client indemnifies the Service Provider against claims or losses related to pre-existing damage, unsafe conditions, or misplacement of items not clearly identified for removal. Liability for proven negligence is limited to the lesser of repair/replacement cost or AUD $500. All Client information is kept confidential in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988, with records stored securely. The Service Provider may pause or terminate services in emergencies or unsafe environments and will notify the Client promptly. Concerns must be raised in writing within seven days. If disputes cannot be resolved directly, both parties agree to mediation before legal action. The Agreement is governed by Queensland law. Either party may terminate the Agreement with seven days’ written notice; if the Client cancels after work has begun, completed work and incurred expenses must be paid.
